Following a Pools Audit completed by Brandstetter Carroll Inc., both of the City of Akron’s outdoor pools were scheduled to be replaced, located at Perkins Park and Reservoir Park. BCI designed the new pools and pool house renovations at each site. The pools are designed to be identical to provide equal amenities to each side of town.
Perkins Park Pool was replaced with a new, larger pool that has a zero-depth entry and water features. The Pool House was designed by noted area architect James J. Montalto and the City wished to maintain as much of that structure as possible. The Pool House alterations maintain the exterior structure and appearance, while updating the interior for modern operations.
