Our Story
BCI is among the most-qualified aquatic and recreation facilities planning and design firms in the United States. Over the past 25 years, BCI has developed a national reputation for its aquatic and recreation facilities planning and design ability, having worked in over ten states. The firm has been an industry leader in the Midwest, designing more than 70% of the municipal pools in Ohio and Kentucky combined. As a result, these two states have been recognized nationally for leading-edge design and application of modern technology.

Blue Ash Family Aquatic Center
BCI designed a Wading Pool and Splash Pad as the first phase of a total renovation of Blue Ash’s existing Aquatic Center. The zero-depth entry, shade structures, and various water features invite even the smallest children to play. The features include a spray area, water dome, play structure with dump bucket and slide, and an interactive play area.

The second phase consists of a new Aquatic Center adjacent to the Wading Pool and Splash Pad, and existing Tennis and Pickleball court improvements.
Lima Aquatic Center
BCI worked with the City of Lima on an Aquatic Study in 2021 to determine the feasibility of a new pool to replace an 80-year-old pool. Findings included the need for a new outdoor pool as well as an indoor pool. Lima City Schools and the Lima YMCA both pledged their support for a new facility. The new pool will be located in Lima Stadium Park and will include an activity pool, lap pool, tot pool, and water features. A pool house and concession building also will be included.
This project will be unique due to a retractable roof for year-round use of the competition pool. Careful consideration was given to the concerns of the school board and Lima YMCA.
Douglass Aquatic Center
This new aquatic center will be a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a diving board, dump bucket, other interactive spray features, and multi-use programming zones. One innovative feature is an colorful inflated wet bubble, inviting users to climb, bounce, and slide. A climbing wall and 15’ slide lead the way for play, while a lap swim area is available for the more exercise-conscious.
A new pool house with restrooms and picnic pavilion round out the offerings. Extenisive community engagement ensures the offerings are tailored to the neighborhood.
